Deine Zukunft am Palast

Die Bühnengeschichte des Palastes reicht bis 1919 zum Großen Schauspielhaus. Unsere drei Gründer Max Reinhardt, Erik Charell und Hans Poelzig litten später unter der NS-Diktatur, weil sie jüdischer Abstammung waren, homosexuell oder ihre Architektursprache als entartet galt. Im Dritten Reich waren wir das größte nationalsozialistische Propagandatheater. Bis 1990 war der Palast das Vorzeigeunterhaltungstheater der DDR.

Vor diesem Hintergrund stehen wir heute bewusst für Vielfalt, Freiheit und Demokratie. Demokratie ist weit entfernt von Perfektion, aber die einzige Staatsform, die Mehr- und Minderheiten ihre Freiheiten lässt.
